What H.R. 5371 Actually Does
Buried inside the continuing resolution to end the government shutdown, Section 781 of H.R. 5371 rewrites the federal definition of hemp. What was legal isn't going away today — but the clock is running.
The old law measured only delta-9 THC. The new law measures all THC isomers combined. Any product over 0.3% total THC on dry weight, or 0.4mg per container, becomes non-compliant. Most current hemp gummies contain 5–25mg per serving.
